UBU Candle Co. was created to be just as it reads; You be you!
We wanted to let our customers know that we hold space for us all to collaborate and create together. Most importantly, we want to remind you, there's no right or wrong in candle making; just be YOU.


Meet Our Founder
Christa G. Hines
Born and raised in Raleigh, Nc, Christa first found her creative passion through the art and love of dance. She studied and received both a BFA in Dance Performance and a BS in Communications from East Carolina University, ultimately moving to Atlanta, Ga to pursue a professional acting and dance career.
Amongst growing the UBU Candle Co., Christa also hopes to add CEO of the C.G.HINES Performing Arts School to her roster one day. She hopes to be an inspiration to everyone, but specifically, little girls, teenagers and women who look just like her.

Meet Our Founder
Michael D. Taylor
Michael was born in Arkansas, but moved to Atlanta, GA in 2009 to attend Morehouse College. Majoring in political science he graduated in 2014. After college Michael has worked in the social service and workforce development sector. While maintaining his passion for film, entertainment, and entrepreneurship. Michael is excited to share his love for fragrances, candles, and creativity in the form of the UBU experience.

Meet Our Advisor/Mentor
Kimberly Shaw
Kimberly Shaw is an entrepreneur, owner and operator of "A Safe Place" Child enrichment center in Raleigh, Nc, founded in 1997. Mrs. Shaw began childcare operations out of her family residence and eventually grew into two full-time centers dedicated to quality childcare to families regardless of their economic status. Kimberly is excited to mentor and partner with Mike and Cee and is looking forward to the journey with UBU Candle Co.
